Breastfeeding is not always easy, but experts agree that breastfeeding provides the best nutrition to your baby. Chocolate Milk Mommies is here to support your breastfeeding journey by offering convenient access to breastfeeding support groups. Our Mommy Meetups are monthly breastfeeding support groups held every 2nd Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama. These groups provide education by certified lactation counselors and peer support from other breastfeeding mothers. These groups assist breastfeeding moms of color. To participate in our Mommy Meetups, please join our private Facebook Group. There you will find the specific days these meet ups will be held and the location for the month.

Virtual Breastfeeding Assessment

Sometimes, mothers experiencing difficulties breastfeeding just need a little extra support from certified personnel to reach their breastfeeding goals. A Chocolate Milk Mommies virtual breastfeeding assessment is a convenient way for breastfeeding mothers of color to receive the support and encouragement they need. A virtual breastfeeding assessment is a one-on-one, face-to-face appointment via your computer, smartphone, or tablet with a certified lactation counselor. The certified lactation counselor can observe you and your baby to help you learn the right techniques. During an assessment, if there are problems, you will be able to learn new positions. If problems persist, the certified lactation counselor can help you solve them or refer you to a specialist to assist you. To schedule a virtual breastfeeding assessment, please go to Chocolate Milk Mommies Facebook Page and send a private message. Someone will be in touch with you to schedule a time that is convenient for you.
